User-Agent: Opera/9.80 (X11; Linux x86_64; U; da) Presto/2.5.24 Version/10.53

Historically when you first run the package manager on a live cd installation, it would want to install a bunch of things including java (openjdk), pull-in-flash and translations for the language you selected at grub when booting the livecd etc.

I have done a livecd installation of x86 kde livecd build0600 and it's not trying to pull-in _anything_.

Reproducible: Always

I did replace the default oss/snapshot repo with the factory repo (yast2 flavour), dunno if that could have something to do with it.
Comment 2 Stephan Kulow 2010-05-26 09:59:42 UTC
no idea why it wouldn't do that.
Comment 3 Stephan Kulow 2010-06-04 13:45:54 UTC
ok, this is limited to the yast interface (and possibly even a wanted change). zypper dup will still pull in danish.

Having a package pulling in danish on updates is something that is most likely wanted to not rely on recommended packages that much.

Ok, I was just surprised by the changed behaviour, assuming it was a bug.

I agree that users might be happier without 300-400 megs of recommended stuff being installed on the first run of yast.

And I think it should be good enough for users to install their language via yast2 language or sw_single -> language view.

But will flash-player still get pulled in?
Comment 5 Stephan Kulow 2010-06-04 14:37:06 UTC
the default was changed unintentionally
Comment 6 Michael Andres 2010-06-04 15:19:44 UTC
fixed in libzypp-7.7.3
Comment 7 Martin Vidner 2015-06-16 11:43:08 UTC
For reference, the fix was https://github.com/openSUSE/libzypp/commit/34653aef5fb79759ad8f0d7e3a8bc65cb449eabf

I found this while investigating a request to make it configurable: https://fate.suse.com/318099 'Possibility to install with "no recommends"'
