Description Karl Eichwalder 2010-05-21 07:19:58 UTC
Red pop-up complains: "Couldn't load plug-in ncurses_pkg".

This happens in the "Installation Settings" dialog with yast ncurses, when I select "Change" > "Software".

Is there something missing in the instsys? I'm installing M7 from the net using setupgrubforinstall. Logs will follow...

missing ncurses_pkg

Pressing "close" in the message pop-up, yast crashed.

The problem seems to be with yast2-ncurses-2.19.5-1.1

I updated 11.3-ms6 using the Factory-OSS repository using "zypper dup".

Then using the text YaST I tried to use "Software Management". This gave the

UI Syntax Error
Couldn't load plug-in ncurses_pkg Check the log file!

  dialogue box.

I removed yast2-ncurses-2.19.5-1.1 and installed yast2-ncurses-2.19.3-1.1 (from milestone 6), and "YaST2 - sw_single" appears to be working.

I kept yast2-ncurses-pkg-2.19.1-1.1 from Factory-OSS.

Comment 3 Gabriele Mohr 2010-05-26 12:10:36 UTC
The problem was that yast2-ncurses-pkg wasn't compiled with ncurses6 library (which is used in yast2-ncurses now). Package yast2-ncurses-pkg-2.19.2 (with Makefile.am adjusted ) is submitted to openSUSE:Factory.
