in text-mode a message is displayed about kernel BUG at /usr/src/packages/BUILD/kernel-default-2.6.34/linux-2.6.34/arch/x86/mm/highmem_32.c:45

Reproducible: Always

1. qemu -m 1024 -cdrom openSUSE-NET-i586-Build0684-Media.iso
2. choose install/rescue/checkmedia/firmwaretest

The second commit should fix the issue for you. It's been reported to do so by several users already.

I saw kernel 2.6.34-11 being built and found that Build0685 worked now again.

I have just installed and booted from kotd 2.6.35-rc3-0.0.6.a7e9880-desktop, see console log. I must be missing something, but what?
Comment 7 Stephan Kulow 2010-06-25 07:51:32 UTC
this bug is not about 2.6.35-rc3 but about 11.3's 2.6.34

But is the very same bug which Jeff fixed in both master and 11.3 kernels. But obviously master (2.6.35) wasn't built with that fix yet.
Comment 9 Bernhard Wiedemann 2010-07-03 13:23:40 UTC
this is definitely good now
