Xorg.0.log
Xorg.0.log.old would be interesting in that case. This is the Xorg.0.log which I copied to my homedir while the (to me inaccessible) X server was still running, X had not restarted in between. But I don't see a crash in the logfile. Could you also attach /var/log/xdm.errors. Maybe libdrm asserted. As I wrote above, there is no crash involved here, the X server and all X applications are still running, I just cannot switch to it, ie. switching to VT7 on which X is supposed to be running shows me only a text console. And weird enough the X mouse cursor is visible on all VTs that I switch to. I also don't have a /var/log/xdm.errors logfile, what application is supposed to log what into it? Ok. Displaymanagers like xdm, gdm, kdm write to /var/log/xdm.errors. Stefan, do you have an idea what could cause this or if this is known upstream? If not I'll report this upstream at bugs.freedesktop.org. (In reply to comment #9) > Stefan, do you have an idea what could cause this or if this is known upstream? Not at all. > If not I'll report this upstream at bugs.freedesktop.org. Go ahead. :-) (In reply to comment #10) > (In reply to comment #9) > > Stefan, do you have an idea what could cause this or if this is known upstream? > > Not at all. > > > If not I'll report this upstream at bugs.freedesktop.org. > > Go ahead. :-) So let's close it as upstream. |
