In order to setup a DomU with Xen I created a logical volume and tried to create a base installation using yast dirinstall. 

After choosing any combination of software patterns I started the setup and when the progress bar was about to reach 100% yast failed.

This happenend in 5 attempts using newly created logical volumes and different software pattern combinations.

The system is OpenSuse 11.3 RC2 64 Bit on a Intel Core2 6400 with 4 GB RAM.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set up a logical volume and mount it
2. Use yast dirinstall to install a system into that volume
3. Choose any software pattern combination

Actual Results:  
Yast returned following error message when it was about to finish the installation (100% were reached):

Calling the YaST module `inst_dirinstall_finish has failed.

The created DomU seems to be functional but for example yast has some graphical flaws

Expected Results:  
A nice and clean setup without causing errors.

This (or similar) problem was fixed recently - in yast2-dirinstall-2.19.0.

Please check which version you have installed.

If the problem is present even in the updated package then reopen.

Where to find yast2-dirinstall-2.19.0 for openSuSE 11.3 32bit?

I have the same problem as christian csasr described, but I'm using openSuSE 11.3 32bit, and I can't find "yast2-dirinstall-2.19.0" within the Online_Updates.
Its not in 'Needed Patches', 'Unneeded Patches', 'All Patches', 'Recommended', 'Security', 'Optional' or 'Search'.

You can find the package in YaST:Head Build service project:

(I don't plan any official update release, using the package from OBS should be sufficient in this case.)
