By using the picture frame on the desktop the desktop was frozen for 2 until 8 seconds when picture frame is loading the next picture.
The Pictures have a size until 1,8 MB.
The service plasma-desktop have thereby a cpu utilization until 96%.

KDE-Settings:
The dektopeffects are disabled

Hardware:
Graphic: GeForce FX5200, is running with the drivers 2D nouveau and 3D nouveau gallium.
AMD Athlon XP3000, 2 GB memory

The same effect i have on others PC´s, example on :
Notebook FSC E8020D wtih 1 GB memory, graphic adapter Intel 915 GM, OS 32-Bit
or
HP Pavilion a6539de with 8 GB memory, graphic adapter AMD Radeon HD3650, OS 64 Bit

I can confirm this bug (was about to file a bug report myself).
My Samsung NC10 becomes completely unresponsive every time the picture frame changes photos.

KDE 4.5 fixed this problem!
