Description Thomas Frühbeck 2010-08-07 21:16:22 UTC
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; de; rv:1.9.2.8) Gecko/20100723 SUSE/3.6.8-0.1.1 Firefox/3.6.8

Connecting to VncServer (SuSE 11.3) via VNC Client (RealVNC, Windows/Linux)
When typing a '/' ([SHIFT]+7) as FIRST character, a '?' appears.
If typing a '(' ([SHIFT]+8) before, the '/' will be correctly shown.

This problem also appears with TigerVNC if selfcompiled or vino.

This problem does NOT exist, if using TightVNC selfcompiled - but colors are crap :-(

I found, that SuSE TightVNC uses a patch for TightVNC and I found a complex handling of KeyCodes in Xvnc of TigerVNC.
Is this possibly related to this?

This does NOT exist in SuSE 11.2 same Installation Type (German)

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Setup VNCServer via Xinetd or x11vnc on german installed SuSE 11.3
2. Connect with RealVNC Client
3. type a '/' ([SHIFT]+7) - a '?' will show

4. type a '(' ([SHIFT]+8) - then type a '/' ([SHIFT]+7) - a '/' will show
Actual Results:
'?'

Expected Results:
'/'
