That's an issue reported on an openSUSE (oS) mailing list. The issue started at http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse/2010-08/msg01623.html and continued at http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse/2010-09/msg00051.html In general to the reporter: Please always included as many references to existing communication as this might accelerates and simplify the bug handling. Somehow the threading of the mail conversation got broken. :/ I've tested the technical issue and had not been able to reproduce it with a plain /etc/samba/smb.conf as delivered with oS 11.3 plus a test share which allowed guest access by adding "guest ok = Yes" as a share parameter. Also on 86_64? Over here entering the users (or any other) dir causes the pop-up to appear, even when a home dir is shared from its properties. The root pasword asked in yast2 sambaservermodule when switching from nDC > PDC , gives access to all dirs. I've tested this on i586 and x86_64. Please also follow the "Samba bug reporting and advanced debugging information" debug instructions from http://en.opensuse.org/Samba Sorry, ENOTIME. But we accept patches. |
Created attachment 387289 [details] yast2.tar.bz2 Guest logons is permitted, share home dirs also. The shares can only be entered when in PDC-mode, with the password one has to enter there. In my opinion the whole password-pop-up should not appear at all.
