sounds like an autoyast config issue. Please attach Yast logs from autoinstalled system. The problem was fixed just by running "setup-pulseaudio --disable"? No other changes in Yast, alsamixer, ...? Could you check whether 11.3 is also affected? (I didn't touch anything AutoYaST related in 11.3 in yast2-sound, but pulse audio could have been changed...) Due to numerous longtime unfixed issues like this or https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=640054 I plan to switch from opensuse to ubuntu. I do not have enough spare time for bug hunting. Good luck. Sorry, neither have I time for reproducing every bug report. (Few weeks ago I had 80+ bugs, I fixed many of them but I still don't have time to reproduce _every_ bug in whatever version to check if is it valid and to get the logs... There are also other bugs and features I have to do...) I'm sorry, but I'm unable to fix or debug the problem without more information. Resolving as NORESPONSE, feel free to reopen if you can provide the needed information.... (And good luck with ubuntu...) |
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.2.10) Gecko/20100914 SUSE/3.6.10-30.1 Firefox/3.6.10 If I autoinstall (autoyast) 11.2 with KDE4.4 and log in, I get no KDE system sound nor will xine/kaffeine produce any sound. mplayer/vlc do play sound. If I check the yast sound module the sound card shows enabled and configured and the pulseaudio selection box is *not* ticked. I found that I have to manually run setup-pulseaudio --disable to fix this problem. sound is configured in autoyast like this : <sound> <autoinstall config:type="boolean">true</autoinstall> <configure_detected config:type="boolean">true</configure_detected> </sound> Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install 11.2 with autoyast 2. Try to play sound with xine/kaffeine or KDE system sound Actual Results: No sound Expected Results: Sound playing
