okay, guys on irc woofed me down so i did following:

`zypper -vv patch, init 6`

result was:

1) replaced /dev/sda$n by UIIDs,
2) kicked out additional paramters like vga=$foo ipv6.disable=$bar
3) added back splash

regards

Sorry, you bug report is not much clear. Could you be more specific? Especially how looks menu.lst before and after update and what you have in /etc/sysconfig/bootloader? And if you attach whole yast logs it would be nice.
thanks

heya Josef,

okay, i'm agreeing that i didn't put in DEFAULT_APPEND=$foo in sysconfig/bootloader but just modified boot/grub/menu.lst by hand although there is written:

# Configure custom boot parameters for updated kernels in /etc/sysconfig/bootloader

my big apologies ^^ my bad .. i'm just old school admin stucked in times of sles10 ..

regards, daniel

ps. please, close a bug as `reporter ignoracy`

OK, no problem. I think that there is a plan to change it to work it with manual changes menu.lst and use sysconfig just as fallback if something goes wrong, but it depends on available resources.
