This version of Google Earth requires LSB 4.0 support which you
do not seem to have.

It was difficult to find it out but finally I learned that it checks for the file /etc/lsb-release which does exist in openSUSE 11.3 but not in 11.4 RC1.

However, after solving this issue and even more serious is remaining: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=673312 which also does not apply to 11.3.

you need to zypper in lsb - it's not installed by default as lsb requires unmaintained software like qt3
