is the rc2 status supposed to be visually observable in contrast to still being on rc1?

i waited an extra day (already tried yesterday), and did a zypper ref - zypper up on my 11.4 rc1, but it still says rc1 during bootup (bootmessages in grey, and that one line welcome to 11.4 rc1 in green), also grub bootmenu entries still say rc1, and so does /etc/SuSE-release.

yesterday afternoon zypper ref/up/dup installed quite a number of hundreds of megabytes of new packages, also some kernel or at least aaa-base and the like if i remember it correctly.

so i thought as there were some messages about rc2 being released as of yesterday, and the wiki also showing rc2 with mostannoying bugs, and also these supposedly-rc2 iso images being offered in various places, that the factory repo would also be on rc2 level.

so now i wonder what do i have?
the rc2-isos have the date from two days ago, so i already assumed that the factory filedates from yesterday would at least be rc2 level, at least the factory filedates from today would be older=newer than the built .iso images.

but my system still tells me rc1 everywhere.
bug? whats happening.
thanks for hints.
