This looks like I'd expect it to - both NICS have the same name

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; de; rv:1.9.2.13) Gecko/20101203 SUSE/3.6.13-0.2.1 Firefox/3.6.13

When starting yast2 from the RC1-CD of openSUSE11.4, the second network card on my mainboard (Tyan Thunder) is not shown correctly. In contrast, this works ok for openSUSE 11.3, so something must have gone wrong here.

Please take a look onto the pictures attached, one from openSUSE 11.3, one from openSUSE 11.4, both on the same computer - the NICs are identical!

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Boot openSUSE 11.4
2. configure network
3. the NICS are depicted different
Actual Results:
Two names for two identical NICS

Expected Results:
Similar names for two identical NICS

This is the result when configuring the NICs on my PC from within openSUSE 11.3. Both network cards are identified identically as they are identical (and use the same driver)

This is what I see from within openSUSE 11.4 - the two NICS have different names, though they do not differ by any means - except the MAC-address, what ought to be the case.

please go back to the situation in the screenshot and attach the /var/log/YaST2/ directory in a tar.gz to this bug then

Here you see what is depicted in the directory the content of which you are asking for.

By the way: looking through the only relevant file - y2log - it seems to me that internally everything is correct, both interfaces are detected identical and get assigned the same driver. Only the display is misleading ....
Maybe you can see something from that.

Sorry for taking so long time. Anyway is the bug still relevant for you? There were some fixes already done in the relevant code, so probably this issue is fixed too?

If you are still able to reproduce could you please provide actual logs (e.g. using save_y2logs)

Thanks for information.
