Description Lars Müller 2011-03-16 20:47:42 UTC
Two of three reboots fail to start the network and several services (for example sshd).

As soon as /etc/sysconfig/boot RUN_PARALLEL="no" is the system starts up as expected.

This is also seen by users and reported on the general openSUSE list. See for example http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse/2011-03/msg00392.html this thread.

I'm able to provide /var/log/boot.* of a working and failing system.

In my case the boot process locks up in most cases (after starting acpd and dbus) if RUN_PARALLEL is YES.
I've had to boot into other OS (Ubuntu 10.0) and change the parameter.
This is old desktop, having oS 11.0, Ubuntu 10.10 and oS 11.3 replaced now by 11.4 now. All other systems work fine.
