Description Stanislav Brabec 2011-05-04 12:46:53 UTC
powersave -U sometimes fails to resume on my machine - it goes to resume but ends with a black text screen just with a cursor.

Now it failed also on hibernation:

Comment 1 Stanislav Brabec 2011-06-02 12:20:40 UTC
None of these failures was seen since the last kernel online update.
Comment 2 Stanislav Brabec 2011-06-07 15:32:41 UTC
The failure on return from hibernation was actually seen with linux-2.6.37.6-0.5-desktop.
Comment 3 Stelescu Raul 2012-01-08 09:00:05 UTC
This bug is fixed in openSUSE 12.1
Comment 4 Stanislav Brabec 2012-01-09 17:47:04 UTC
No, it is not fixed in openSUSE 12.1, or at least was not fixed in 12.1 release.

In 12.1, I sometimes see text console with X cursor. It is a X screen, which does not know that it is the time to redraw.

Work around:
- blindly type password (if gnome-screensaver is active). Redraw is forced.
- press LWin button. GNOME starts to animate. Redraw is forced.

As no kernel problem happens now, reassigning.
Comment 5 Stefan Dirsch 2014-05-22 12:29:17 UTC
openSUSE 12.1 is no longer supported. Hence the issue won't be fixed for this product. In case the issue still is reproducable with a supported product (openSUSE 12.3/13.1 at the moment) or with openSUSE:Factory, please feel free to reopen. Thanks.
