Description Stefan Seyfried 2011-08-21 06:00:14 UTC
people want to use pigz instead of gzip, but it has no --rsyncable option.
This is to let everyone know, that pigz is no replacement for gzip unless it has an --rsyncable option.

Have a nice day :-)

seife@susi:~> pigz --rsyncable foo.txt
pigz abort: invalid option: rsyncable not implemented yet: -R

stano, i made you maintainer and bugowner of pigz, as you did the last submit.

good luck :)
Comment 2 Stanislav Visnovsky 2011-08-24 08:35:24 UTC
I believe Cristian did the last submit to Factory. Cristian, you mentioned the option is implemented.
Comment 3 Herbert Meier 2014-04-24 20:38:12 UTC
Desktops and servers get more and more CPU cores. Are there any plans to install pigz instead of gzip for the next openSUSE release?

scarabeus@bugaboo: ~ $ pigz --help 2>&1 |grep sync
-R, --rsyncable Input-determined block locations for rsync

Fixed in currently supported releases ^
