Could someone please confirm if it is only an issue with some applications missing the high-res icons or something more than that? I can then go about fixing this application-by application. Thanks. Atri, this indeed should be missing hires icon files. Thanks for picking this up. Upstream bug for freecell icons: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=657280 Submitted to GNOME:Apps the fix for gnome-phone-manager, request id 79709 Submitted aisleriot to GNOME:Factory, fixes (temporarily) the freecell icon. Request #79730 This is an autogenerated message for OBS integration: This bug (713902) was mentioned in https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/79729 Factory / gnome-phone-manager This is an autogenerated message for OBS integration: This bug (713902) was mentioned in https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/79744 Factory / aisleriot Icon for "Printing" fixed by request 79741 for system-config-printer. This is an autogenerated message for OBS integration: This bug (713902) was mentioned in https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/81853 Factory / desktop-data-openSUSE smolt is in the default pattern too is it not? Libreoffice icons tracked in bug 722644. The yast icon is also not that good: bug 722689. So remaining issues are: Linux 32-bit terminal Midnignt commander Xsane xstroke libreoffice (bug 722644) yast (bug 722689) sr #88862 to improve smolt icons https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/88862 Unfortunately the entire suite of games with the package gnome-games does not install hi-res icons either (max size 48x48). Sigh... This is an autogenerated message for OBS integration: This bug (713902) was mentioned in https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/89405 Factory / xchat Accepted submitrequest 89698 home:badshah400:branches:Printing/hplip -> Printing/hplip and forwarded this together with the "add libtool as buildrequire" from coolo as submitrequest 89963 Printing/hplip -> openSUSE:Factory/hplip This is an autogenerated message for OBS integration: This bug (713902) was mentioned in https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/89963 Factory / hplip Moving to 12.2: we won't ever release an online-update for fixed icons anyway :) Might be good to get a clear list again of what is still missing now. On the default installation, and even after pulling in the rather large stack of recommended applications, almost all the icons look great on the shell now. There are a few exceptions of course:- 1. YaST icon: nothing we can do about that, bnc#722689 2. xstroke: coolo promised he would drop this from the LiveCD and default patterns, bnc#756777 3. qt4 settings (qtconfig): the worst icon of them all, but there is no way that I see to generate a hi-res icon for this one. We have to live with this one I guess. 4. Midnight Commander: no icon source or hi-res icon available. I found no way to do generate hi-res icons for this one. 5. openJDK stack: haven't had a very detailed look at this, but they only have low pixel icons in their tarball. ...and those are all the offending ones. I am also tracking individual (GNOME) apps for their icons on their upstream bug tracker:- 1. Latexila: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=679174 Marking as fixed, after removing dependecny on bnc#722689. |
