Description Mario Guzman 2011-09-02 21:18:21 UTC
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:6.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/6.0

After the install and the first boot, I get msg fxck failed, then second msg that root / is mounted read only. Failure started with 12.1 milestone 3 but different msg. I am installing into an LVM partition (one of many) and selected not to install a boot manager (I sue GRUB2). Milestone 1 and 2 worked, something changed in ms3 and I gave up. MS 4 is failing but with different messages. There is no data in the log files since none were created.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Install
2.
3.

Expected Results:
Boot should work and install continue.

This is 12.1 ms 5.

Also, this is the 64 bit install from the DVD.

To clarify, this occurs during the first boot to continue installation. I found the FSTAB to look ok. Since root was mounted read only there are no logs/msgs.

Since I am XFS wonder if it's related to bug 716639.
Comment 5 Mario Guzman 2011-09-12 17:47:17 UTC
Missing XFSPROGS seems to be the problem. I copied XFS from 11.3 and the boot went further but froze. Will give up and try next MS.

Problem was resolved in next update to 12.1
