Description Jan Engelhardt 2011-10-06 23:02:03 UTC
Through the update channels, SLE offers, for example,

./SLES11-SP1-Updates-x86_64/rpm/x86_64/xz-5.0.3-0.12.1.x86_64.rpm

However, xz is nowhere to be found on build.opensuse.org in SUSE:SLE-11:SP1:Updates, or in any of its parent projects.

Please sync the b.o.o projects with what's in SLE.

HAE also seems to be absent from the OBS.
Comment 3 Jan Engelhardt 2012-02-28 09:17:00 UTC

Comment 4 Adrian Schröter 2012-04-04 12:58:27 UTC
PM decision in first place.
Comment 5 Matthias Eckermann 2012-04-05 22:49:51 UTC
OBS only contains the initial version of every SUSE Linux Enterprise
Service Pack, to maintain a maximum of API and ABI compatibility.

In other words: it is correct that xz is missing.

For new packages, such as xz, I agree though that those could be added
to SP1 -- as an exception, and on a case by case basis.

Let's include Kai for the question about SLE HA.

This is what he had agreed upon a while ago: new packages or updates
shall be included based on approval by PM.

In the case of xz we all seem to agree that it should be added, so
let's go ahead with that.
Comment 7 Jan Engelhardt 2012-04-08 19:27:28 UTC
xz has been added meanwhile.
As for HAE, it was asterisk that would like to have the openais devel packages.
Comment 8 Kai Dupke 2012-04-10 10:10:40 UTC
No issue adding the needed openais devel package. Wonder a bit as openais is in the OBS, isn't it?
Comment 9 Jan Engelhardt 2012-04-13 08:04:57 UTC
>openais is in the OBS

- it's unrealistic having to add <path> to every bsprj that potentially wants the HA stack
- end-users may not have the extra path in their zypper either
- could use linkpac, but that may require links to more than one bspkg (e.g. deps of openais would need to be linkpacd as well)
- it would compile against a newer openais rather than the one shipped in SLE-HAE
Comment 10 Kai Dupke 2012-04-13 08:59:27 UTC
If I understood this comment right then the openais in the OBS isn't the openais which is part of SLE HA (no 'E' please).

As said in #8 I'm fine with adding the needed devel packages from SLE HA.

Comment 12 Lars . 2012-04-19 15:22:34 UTC
In Bug 754608 the issues are related to the php devel packages in the SLE-11:SP2 repository. Will they be imported or is this a permanent status to which we will have to find an own solution (like copying the packages from the DVDs to the local cache)?
Comment 13 Lars . 2012-05-11 20:07:11 UTC
Can we expect the php devel packages to be added to the repository in the near future? If not, are they included on the binary DVD images, so we could import them from there?

Sorry for the delay, I was not aware of your question:
Next time, I suggest to set someone from SUSE on "NEEDINFO",
e.g. Adrian or myself.

And yes, let's add the php53-devel packages.

so long -

Comment 15 Adrian Schröter 2012-05-16 09:33:21 UTC
Rudi does not need me for this :)
Comment 16 Lars . 2012-05-27 15:08:24 UTC
Rudi: Can you give an estimate of when this issue will be fixed? Can we expect it to be fixed at all?
Comment 17 Ruediger Oertel 2012-06-13 12:46:10 UTC
php53-devel package is in SUSE:SLE-11:SP2 now.

openais,libopenais3 and libopenais-devel are in SUSE:SLE-11:SP2 and
 SUSE:SLE-11:SP1:Update update now.
Comment 18 Jan Engelhardt 2013-02-17 07:40:39 UTC
unresolvable: nothing provides libcoroipcc.so.4()(64bit) needed by libopenais3, nothing provides libcoroipcc.so.4(COROSYNC_COROIPCC_3.0)(64bit) needed by libopenais3
Comment 19 Dirk Mueller 2013-03-20 09:28:48 UTC
python-pyasn1 needs to be added :Update as well: (http://download.novell.com/Download?buildid=IxkUO_gjJ4I~)
Comment 20 Ruediger Oertel 2014-01-31 13:56:45 UTC
openais, corosync and python-pyasn1 are in SUSE:SLE-11:SP1:Update and SUSE:SLE-11:SP2:Update on OBS
