Description Robert Schweikert 2011-11-30 12:53:40 UTC
When logged in in runlevel 3 some messages destined for the syslog are also displayed.

For example when inserting a USB stick the kernel messages are displayed.

No special/extra command line arguments are set.

This only occurs with an image built with KIWI, thus there is something else at play here.
Comment 2 Oscar Tiderman 2012-03-04 15:35:55 UTC
Hello, I also see some messages from /var/log/messages like from samba, rsyslogd and cron on tty1 whenever I set openSUSE to runlevel 3. I'm on 12.1.

dmesg -D
is turning off messages

closed by mistake, reopened again
Comment 5 Lars Müller 2012-03-05 14:33:03 UTC
This might be an systemd issue. Please check if this works well as soon as you use sysvinit.

http://en.openSUSE.org/openSUSE:Most_annoying_bugs_12.1 has a dedicated section about how to switch sysvinit and systemd. Search for 'Problem: System is switched from sysvinit to systemd during upgrade.'

If this works with sysvinit please pass this issue to Frederic <fcrozat at suse dot com>.

OK, sending Frederic's way.

Frederic,

Could you please add this to your list. Everyone else still just likes to punt when something happens that might be slightly related to systemd.
Comment 7 Frederic Crozat 2013-03-11 16:08:58 UTC
Is it still an issue ? I don't remember seeing any complains about it ?
Comment 8 Robert Schweikert 2013-03-27 17:13:49 UTC
