Here is my screenshot from Libreoffice on opensuse 12.1

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/535.11 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/17.0.963.56 Safari/535.11

Here is the launchpad bug:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/901959

I updated my intel video driver using the xorg repository:
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/X11:/XOrg/openSUSE_12.1/

However, this driver caused a log out whenever I had to use something as root and caused lots of problems with kdm.
So I reverted back to the opensuse default driver (had to log in as root).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open LO.
2.Look.
3....
Actual Results:
There is a lot of "clipping" in LO due to intel video drivers.

Expected Results:
There should be nothing wrong with the display

From the launchpad bug, it is an X problem which has been resolved, I suspect if we could do anything productive on libreoffice side. If the updated X caused extra problems, it could be a regression problem of it. Instead of opening the old X issue to libreoffice, I think it will be more effective to report the regression to X. Am I right?

I understand. I'm using whatever X is installed on Opensuse 12.1
So will the fixed version of X be included in opensuse 12.2?
And is there a way to get this fix in 12.1 without crashing my kdm and plasma desktop?

Hi Stefan, could you have a look please / pass on if necessary?
Comment 5 Stefan Dirsch 2012-04-13 14:02:13 UTC
Sounds like a Xserver crash. Could be, that you updated the driver when we enabled SNA support in the driver. We did this only for a short while and meanwhile reverted this. Could you have another try with the latest driver package xorg-x11-driver-video? Thanks.

There is no issue with later versions of the intel driver.
