User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:12.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/12.0

When configuring kmail2 for working with mbox - files, unacceptable errors occur:
- though the file /var/lib/mail/<username> contains emails and kmail2 is configured for working with this file, the emails are not shown at all.
- when deleting files from an account /var/lib/mail/<username> the emails do not get deleted but come over and over again.
- when fetching email i.e. via fetchmail not all files that have been fetched and reside within /var/lib/mail/<username> are displayed
- last but not least: why the heck can the emails from /var/lib/mail/<username> not be simply transferred to inbox and deleted vrom /var/lib/mail/<username> as the good old rock-solid solution did it for about a decade?

By the way: I activated compressing after 1 file as has been reported to work on the net - but does not.

Thank you for looking into this. kmail2 is what I'd call a "verschlimmbesserung" in German.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.start kmail
2.configure mbox infile
3.enjoy ....
Actual Results:
see above ..

Expected Results:
what used to work for about a decade ....

This is still true for openSUSE 12.3, no matter what KDE-Version I'm using, the one coming with openSUSE 12.3 or the version coming with the KDE release repos, currently KDE 4.11.3
