The latest libfreetype6 upgrade breaks gs. The issue is described at

http://bugs.ghostscript.com/show_bug.cgi?id=692940#c3 and
http://forums.opensuse.org/english/get-technical-help-here/applications/475163-ghostscript-freetype-problems.html

I believe things using ps2pdf are also impacted.

The first URL includes links to patches for freetype and its admission of the problem at https://savannah.nongnu.org/bugs/?func=detailitem&item_id=35833

Reverting to 2.4.4-7.10.1 fixes the issue (at the expense of failing to fix several potential overflows).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Run gv / gs on any file containing fonts (/Helvetica will do)
2.
3.
Actual Results:
Error: Font Renderer Plugin ( FreeType ) return code = -1

The file may be displayed correctly, but some apps using gs as a helper dislike seeing all these errors.

Seems to be the same problem as bug 753249.
