Description Takashi Iwai 2012-06-15 13:45:59 UTC
The recent PCs have the beep tone routed through HD-audio codecs as default. This is fine, but the loudness of the beep tone is pretty high even in the minimal volume, thus it's very annoying.

It'd be rather better to make the beep tone silent as default, at least, for the fresh installation. This can be done by adding a proper rule to alsactl init.
