While modifying the suggested partition schema I've decided to add some additional mount points of existing file systems and intend to keep the data.

Here the translation to German for the part

If in doubt, better go back ...

is missing.

Hendrik checked the file in question: storage.de.po. It is fully translated and up to date with it's corrisponding template file storage.pot.

However the string in the .pot file and in the screenshot are slightly different however:
.POT-File:
"If in doubt, better go back and mark this partition for\n"
"formatting, especially if it is assigned to one of the standard mount "
"points\n"
"like /, /boot, /usr, /opt or /var.\n"

Screenshot:
"If in doubt, better go back and mark this partition for\n"
"formatting, especially if it is assigned to one of the standard mount "
"points\n"
"like /, /boot, /opt or /var.\n"

This leads to the question why it doesn't use the more recent string but instead another one (that is probably outdated?) or why the catalouge (the .pot file) hasn't been updated.

The developers of the yast storage module should be able to answer it.

Passing bug report to the yast2-storage maintainer. Found via:

The message was updated due to bug #766632. I'll attach a new storage.pot.
It contains at least on other modified message.

Karl, if possible please take care of the issue.

Thanks, it is in. I'm now merging the translations.
Comment 6 Karl Eichwalder 2012-07-23 13:10:13 UTC
Arvin, these strings are "broken". This opening tag (<p>) is missing. Reported by Freek:

#. helptext
#: storage/src/include/ep-raid-dialogs.ycp:240
msgid ""
"The parity algorithm to use with RAID5/6.\n"
"Left-symmetric is the one that offers maximum performance on typical disks with rotating platters.</p>\n"
msgstr ""

#. helptext
#: storage/src/include/ep-raid-dialogs.ycp:245
msgid ""
"For further details regarding the parity \n"
"algorithm please look at the man page for mdadm (man mdadm).</p>\n"
msgstr ""
Comment 7 Thomas Fehr 2012-07-23 13:34:36 UTC
My fault. </p> is superfluous in texts because it is added by ycp code later.
Should now be fixed in head.
Comment 8 Karl Eichwalder 2012-07-23 13:47:22 UTC
Please attach an updated storage.pot file.
