Description Karl Ove Hufthammer 2012-07-25 07:02:23 UTC
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:13.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/13.0.1

Middle-tapping (i.e., tapping between the left and right button areas) on a Synaptics touchpad to paste text from the clipboard doesn’t work anymore. This used to work in 12.1.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Select some text (to copy it to the clipboard).
2. Move cursor over a place where it is possible to write text.
3. Middle-tap.
Actual Results:
No text pasted. Tapping is seen as either a left tap or a right-tap.

Expected Results:
Text should be pasted.

Note that middle-clicking with an external mouse works fine.

Yes, it's a known regression. On openSUSE-12.1, we had own clickpad patches but they are no longer applicable with the upstream code, unfortuantely.

Maybe better to report in the upstream bugzilla on freedesktop.org.

openSUSE 12.2 is no longer supported. Hence the issue won't be fixed for this product. In case the issue still is reproducable with a supported product (openSUSE 12.3/13.1 at the moment) or with openSUSE:Factory, please feel free to reopen. Thanks.
