Description Jan Engelhardt 2012-07-29 18:16:45 UTC
We should copy /etc/os-release into the initrd, so that plymouth can display its pretty name.

I have accepted the SR and forwarded it to Factory. Will keep an eye on the status around 12.2 and then see if we can forward it also to 12.2
Comment 4 Forgotten User sM9JzehKpy 2012-08-07 11:11:05 UTC
Update was accepted in Factory and 12.2
Comment 5 Jan Engelhardt 2013-01-13 02:21:11 UTC
Umm, os-release is in the initrd, but the distro name is not showing with today's build 0328 any more (contains plymouth-0.8.8_git201211022126).

Last time this worked was when this bug was originally filed.

plymouth died again -> bug #771299.
