Attempting to update openSUSE 12.2 x86_64 after fresh install. YaST2 gives the following error message when attempting to connect to repositories.

"UNSIGNED FILE

"The file repomd.xml from repository openSUSE-12.2-Non-Oss http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/12.2/repo/non-oss/ is not digitally signed. The origin and integrity of the file cannot be verified. [...]"

Other openSUSE repositories load with no trouble.

A similar problem was reported with openSUSE 12.1 back in February 2012.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open YaST Control Center
2. Run Online Update

Actual Results:
System connects to repositories and gives error message as described above.

Expected Results:
Update installed system files.

you can add it as a regular YAST source?
Comment 2 Palmer Pattison 2012-10-25 16:45:46 UTC
I'm not sure what you're asking me to do. All YaST sources are the ones that were set up during installation. No repositories have been added, removed, or modified. I can access the Non-OSS repository; I just can't verify the repository's digital signature, which means I can't update safely from that repository.
Comment 3 Palmer Pattison 2012-10-27 21:31:17 UTC
Now YaST2's Online Update can't locate the repository file at all. Error message reads:

"Cannot access installation media http://download.opensuse.org/12.2/repo/non-oss/ (Medium 1).
"Check whether the server is accessible."

Clicking "Show details" check box reveals the following:

"File '/repodata/repomd.xml' not found on medium 'http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/12.2/repo/non-oss/'"

the server is down or the 12.2 tree is gone, unclear. this is temporary.

coolo should know about who to assign for the repodata issue, perhaps rudi?
Comment 5 Stephan Kulow 2012-10-28 08:40:12 UTC
no, it was rf's fault - but I removed the repodata again
