sshd logfile in DEBUG3 mode of an unsuccessful fish-login attempt

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:22.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/22.0

Connecting to a ssh-server with Dolphin using the fish protocol does not work. Dolphin asks for username and password and tries to connect, but with no success.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. enter a fish-address in the Dolphin-address-line
2. enter username and password
3.
Actual Results:
the connection does not get established

Expected Results:
the connection should succeed

Using the fish protocol works at the same hardware in openSUSE 12.3 + Tumbleweed.

The problem still exists in 13.1 RC1. So I moved the bug from factory to 13.1.
Comment 2 Javier Llorente 2013-10-31 16:27:39 UTC
This issue is still reproducible on 13.1 RC2.
Please note that sftp:// doesn't work either.

Comment 4 Alex Shinkevich 2013-10-31 20:15:15 UTC
i've this issue in 13.1RC2. it is only for login/password authorization. For key-based authorization it works ok.
Comment 5 Adi Stadelmann 2013-11-02 17:01:55 UTC
Bug 836749 describes a problem using ECDSA. In my eyes this bug is not a duplicate of it.
With 13.1RC2 fish protocol doesn't work at all. after enter user/password no feedback.
With opensuse 12.3 & kde 4.11 it works as expected.
Comment 6 Adi Stadelmann 2013-11-20 13:00:50 UTC
still not fixed with opensuse 13.1 final version
Comment 7 Jean-Daniel Dodin 2013-12-09 13:37:26 UTC
is probably fixed. I got this report because I had similar problem, but after some experiments (where no protocol worked in dolphin) I could connect using fish. It may be (?) usefull to connect first through ssh to validate the ssh key

13.1 final updated, brand new install (not upgrade) - dec 9, 2013
Comment 8 Javier Llorente 2013-12-12 16:40:03 UTC
Reopening bug. I can still reproduce it on 13.1 (final).
Comment 9 Hendrik Woltersdorf 2014-10-06 19:27:11 UTC
test in openSUSE 13.2 Beta1 (32bit):

Works for me now.
Comment 10 Javier Llorente 2014-10-07 07:55:37 UTC
I can also confirm that the fish protocol works on Dolphin (openSUSE 13.2 beta 1 64-bit). Therefore, I am closing this bug.
