Description Chris Mirchadani 2013-11-08 15:09:04 UTC
If PAM mounts are configured in Yast and Auto-Login configured in KDE, the pam_mounts are not mounted when the user is logged in. In this case, the system is not setup for a Windows domain, just the mounts, but this also happens when the system is configured to use a Windows domain.

Since PAM mounts do not have to be directly tied to a system configured to use a Windows domain, the PAM mounts section may be better served if moved to its own panel or if PAM mounts also existed in the Samba panel.

@yast: not sure what this bug is exactly about. Could you check the pam mount and if it is kde issue only reassing back to opensuse-kde-bugs?

I'm not sure to understand the bug report either.

Looks like the reporter is using the samba-client YaST module (a.k.a. "windows domain membership"). Right?

There, he is configuring the "mount server directories". Right?

And then, it looks to me like he is reporting two different things:

1) The configured mount points are still not available at the moment of auto-login... Or you mean they are not available at all, even later? Not sure what the exact issue is.

2) An usability issue in yast2 samba-client about the placing of the options.

In any case, it's always useful to provide the YaST logs, as explained here:
