Guess: logon screen is KDM, the KDE Display Manager No reply in more than 4 weeks. Please reopen if you are able to provide the requested information. In the meantime, I have upgraded to openSUSE v. 13.1 - and the problem remains. As I am not sure, whether or what information is requested, please specify. What display manager are you using? Is it indeed KDM? I have installed KDE GUI and none other, so I believe it is KDM screen. With a green chameleon on the right side, and username, password, domain in the central part, from the top to the bottom. The icon concerned (meaning: ON-OFF) is situated at the bottom. *** Bug 872272 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** I tried to reproduce the problem, however I am not asked for the root password, but the system simply goes to shutdown. Found another more detailed report, closing as duplicate. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 860506 *** (In reply to comment #7) > I tried to reproduce the problem, however I am not asked for the root password, > but the system simply goes to shutdown. Do there appears the selection dialog? (Restart, shutdown, cancel)? Then when you select restart or shutdown, no root password request appears? There must be any setting not allowing these operations to everyone! Security problem! Regards, AK (In reply to comment #9) > Do there appears the selection dialog? (Restart, shutdown, cancel)? Then when > you select restart or shutdown, no root password request appears? There must be > any setting not allowing these operations to everyone! Security problem! This can be configured in /etc/sysconfig/displaymanager ("DISPLAYMANAGER_SHUTDOWN"). See also the corresponding comment in that file. |
