Hi.

Installed openSUSE-Factory via PXE with AutoYaST and ssh and received an error "Switching to the Installed System Failed" right after package installation.

As the error message says this is worth reporting a bug, here it is.

I attach a screenshot and the y2logs.

Julian

yast2-core gets not installed. Might be just a broken package dep. Martin?
Comment 3 Josef Reidinger 2013-11-21 11:59:13 UTC
It is result of new installer approach where yast-core need not to be on installed system.
Lada - looks like problem with autoyast with new approach you are working on now, probably for you.

Tried it again today and it still fails to switch to the installed system but no with another error message and one step further, I think. I attach new logs and new error message.

Julian - Can you check what version of yast2-core package you have in inst-sys?
BTW we must remove SCR switching debugger as we no longer do switch.
Comment 7 Julian Wolf 2013-11-25 11:30:18 UTC
haley:/ # grep yast2-core /.packages.root
yast2-core [3.0.1-4.1.x86_64]
Comment 8 Josef Reidinger 2013-11-25 11:40:00 UTC
Julian - ah, thanks. Reason is really old core. In factory should be in fact https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/openSUSE:Factory/yast2-core (3.1.5). So probably your PXE server have a really old version with mixture of packages version.
Comment 9 Ladislav Slezák 2013-11-25 12:29:33 UTC
It looks like installation-images was not built successfully for quite long time: install-initrd-14.17-1.7.x86_64.rpm 03-Oct-2013 12:34

https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/openSUSE:Factory/installation-images:
unresolvable : "nothing provides yast2-runlevel"

I'll send out patch from YaST:Head:installer to upstream...
