Description Thomas Fehr 2013-11-21 13:34:47 UTC
There is bnc#846011 that causes installations with autoyast to fail if the
<add-on> section is used. So it could be helpful if we could add a text to
our release notes like: e.g.

Autoyast:
If the autoyast profile contains entries in <add-on> section there is a
bug triggered that prevents information in profile from being transferred
from first stage into second stage. Therefore in this case all second stage
configurations steps are skipped which normally leads to more or less completely
unusable installation. So avoid using <add-on> section in profiles with autoyast
in 13.1.

Thanks, here is my proposal:

  <sect2 id="sec.131.autoyast">
   <!-- bnc#851588 -->
   <title>AutoYaST</title>
   <para>
    If the autoyast profile contains entries in an
    <literal>&lt;add-on></literal> section there is a bug triggered that
    prevents information in the profile from being transferred from the
    first stage into the second stage. Therefore, in this case all
    second stage configuration steps are skipped, which normally leads
    to more or less completely unusable installations.
   </para>
   <para>
    As a temporary workaround, avoid using
    <literal>&lt;add-on></literal> sections in profiles with AutoYaST in
    openSUSE 13.1.
   </para>
  </sect2>

For me the proposal sounds good.
