Thanks for report.

Please attach YaST logs (e.g. using save_y2logs).

Thanks

YaST logs from error when clicking Network Settings

Oops. I even had bookmarked the instructions for that. Here's the file.
Comment 3 Michal Filka 2014-03-26 12:47:39 UTC
Well, I did find nothing in logs. There is not even a note about starting network settings.

Could you try to remove /var/log/YaST2/y2log* and reproduce the bug? Attach new logs when done.

Thanks
Comment 4 Michal Filka 2014-03-26 15:26:12 UTC
I was unable to reproduce it, so the logs are needed.

text mode yast logs from error when clicking Network Settings - after deleting previous logs

This log is after deleting /var/log/YaST2/y2log*, then running text mode by entering "yast" in a terminal as su. After selecting "Network Settings", yast runs through the list of ten or so tasks before popping up the error window.

gui yast logs from error when clicking Network Settings - after text run

This log is after deleting /var/log/YaST2/y2log*, then running text mode, then running gui by clicking "Network Settings" in the Control Center window. In the "Initializing Network Configuration" window, it runs through the list of ten or so tasks before popping up the error window.

Match better now. Fix is on the way: https://github.com/yast/yast-network/pull/181

Thanks for cooperation

There is backtrace in the logs but no message. e.message is missing from the rescue clause in lan.rb.
Comment 9 Michal Filka 2014-03-27 12:26:23 UTC
Fixed in yast2-network 3.1.39
Comment 10 Howard Moreland 2014-03-27 17:16:58 UTC
Thanks. I installed yast2-network 3.1.39 from http://software.opensuse.org/download.html?project=YaST%3AHead&package=yast2-network
That fixed the error on my system. Still cannot get wireless to connect, though. I'll keep tinkering.

Howard
