Scott, apologies, this definitively did not receive the attention it deserved. I do agree that the options can be confusing. In order to get the right input from the community, and getting the 'right people' involved, we probably have to bring this to the mailing lists Would you be willing to lead that process and get the right info together? The conclusion can be to 'rename' things, or documenting things. Depending on the outcome, we can then drive it to completion (could be the media names, changes on software.opensuse.org or 'simply' wiki pages) I moved it to 'Tumbleweed' - as it's the only product that actually still offers a 'Rescue CD' for download (or Live ISOs in general) Dear Reporter, Thank you very much for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make openSUSE better. Unfortunately, you were not able (timewise or otherwise) to provide the needed input to progress further with this bug. For this reason, we are marking the bug as 'FIXED/NORESPONSE' for now. This does NOT mean we are not willing to work on this issue together with you; should you be able to provide the information asked for, you can simply add this information and change the status back to REOPENED, which will resume the ticket immediately. Thank you for your understanding. Truly yours, |
Created attachment 654090 [details] Standard download with boot option 'Rescue' We need to clarify the existing Boot Menu Option 'Rescue' that exists as part of the full product download DVD and the subset of alternate product downloads...like Network and live CD/DVD/USB etc. etc. We have confusion here and queries are they both the same? also there is No documentation available for the Rescue download from the software download page. We need to make a standard and make documentation available with ease. What you decide what to do is up for discussion, however, currently there is a lot of confusion about this that we are not addressing as both a software download exclusive Option and the Boot Option that is part of the full Product download. The stark lack of documentation available next to the download Options really needs attention without delay
