Have installed kdeconnect-kde5 0.8.99 on Leap42.1
I can pair Leap and my nexus5 device without problem and can see the first level of files (All Files, Camera Pictures) can cannot navigate any deeper on my device to other folders.
Message given is The file or folder /home/~/.config/kdeconnect/69a66e057644dd14/kdeconnect_sftp/69a66e057644dd14/storage/emulated/0 does not exist.

it seems this is a known bug that has been fixed upstream but is still present in opensuse

Reproducible: Always

And where did you install it from? It's not included in Leap 42.1...

The version in KDE:Unstable:Extra does contain the fix for the mentioned bug though.
Comment 2 Mark Fairbairn 2015-11-07 11:38:58 UTC
that is indeed where I installed from - so the bug does still appear to be present.

Then either the fix doesn't work, or you are seeing a different issue.
In any case, I would recommend to file a bug report upstream.

It does look like a different issue though.
Your error message talks of /home/~/.config/kdeconnect/69a66e057644dd14/kdeconnect_sftp/69a66e057644dd14/storage/emulated/0, the /home/~/ doesn't look correct at all to me...

Does it work with a fresh user account?

Maybe try to wipe out the config files in ~/.config/ and the files in ~/.local/share/kxmlgui5/ (you can just delete the whole folder).

sorry - that was my editing.

as a new user and also after wiping out the files you suggest then repairing the device I am still presented with the following message when trying to browse the device.

The file or folder /home/farcus/.config/kdeconnect/69a66e057644dd14/kdeconnect_sftp/69a66e057644dd14/storage/emulated/0 does not exist.

OK.

I would guess then that the connection fails/breaks for some reason and therefore the folder does not exist any more.
I have no idea how to debug this though, I cannot even try to reproduce it because I don't have such a phone.

But you probably should try to get some debug output like described in the bug report you mentioned.
I.e. run kdeconnectd manually before you open dolphin and reproduce the problem, it should then provide some debug output in the terminal window that might show what's going on.

Although, this is about unreleased software not even included in openSUSE and only available from some unstable repo.
So you really should bring this upstream think.

This is preview tech. Just report the issue to bugs.kde.org.

this has been fixed upstream in kdeconnect-kde 0.9g

can we get an updated build from KDE:Extra

The package kdeconnect-kde (which is the *stable* KF5 release) in KDE:Extra does contain the mentioned fix meanwhile.

Since you filed a new bug report about this too, let's mark this as duplicate instead.

The package in KDE:Unstable:Extra will be updated whenever one of the maintainers feels like it.
Better use the stable one from KDE:Extra instead.
