Description Christian Boltz 2015-11-22 14:26:27 UTC
Please add a section about KDE Plasma no longer supporting screen savers to the release notes - this starts to become a FAQ on the german mailinglist.

It would be perfect if the section also includes a note how to get a screen saver (instead of the plasma screeen locker) setup, but that's "just" nice to have ;-)
Comment 1 Karl Eichwalder 2015-11-24 09:34:35 UTC
If you'd use draft style, we ideally could cut-and-paste it ;)
Comment 2 Stefan Knorr 2015-11-26 18:47:59 UTC
I do not really want to write a howto on this (screensavers are ~useless wastes of energy), but what application would I need to enable [as a hint]? (xscreensaver?)
Comment 3 Christian Boltz 2015-11-26 21:00:16 UTC
I hoped you can answer that ;-)

https://forums.opensuse.org/content.php/190-Alternate-Screensaver-in-KDE-Plasma-5 says you need xscreensaver in autostart, and xscreensaver -demo can be used to change settings. Note that I didn't test it, so please make sure it works before adding it to the release notes ;-)
Comment 4 Stefan Knorr 2015-11-27 10:29:59 UTC
Well, I've tested it, it works. Added RN entry.

Marking as RESOLVED FIXED.

(Also, thanks for the pointer, Christian!)
