This is the error message from the updater:

NetworkManager-0.9.8.8-10.1.x86_64 requires ppp = 2.4.5, but this requirement cannot be provided

This is what I have installed:

rpm -qa | grep ppp
ppp-2.4.5-20.4.1.x86_64

This is quite serious as it stops me installing updates easily from the plasma shell utility.

There currently is an update from ppp-2.4.5-20.4.1 to ppp-2.4.7-20.7.1 for openSUSE 13.1 which is triggering this problem.

Guess the dependencies of NetworkManager have to be changed.

This appears to be a duplicate to the bug number 957014 having description: openSUSE-2015-827 - security update for ppp has broken dependencies.  This bug is already confirmed and assigned.
