On a fresh, less than 24-hour old, installation of Leap 42.1 Gnome, package updater notifies that there are security updates available. One security update is:

Security update for libebml, libmatroska
openSUSE-2016-37-1

When package updater is run, it fails with the following dialog:

Failed to process request.
vlc-noX-2.2.1-131.2.x86_64 requires libmatroska.so.6(V_1.4.1)(64bit), but this requirement cannot be provided

This failure occurs because the version of libmatroska.so.6 installed from the current opensuse repos is 1.4.2-3.3 yet the update is expects 1.4.1. The update is out of sync with the current repo.

FWIW, Leap 42.1 was installed (on 2 systems) because recent updates to YaST and GRUB2 for 13.2 completely borked both systems to the point that they could only be recovered by a fresh os install. It strongly appears there is a fundamental systemic update management issue in suse that not resolved.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install Leap 42.1 Gnome
2. Run package updater when notification of security update arrives
3. Package updater report "Failed to process request." as described in details
Actual Results:
no security update
