Having a ext4 partition, I converted it to btrfs with command btrfs-convert. Afterwards I removed ext2_saved and run btfs balance, as recommended in the man page. The user program threw a segmentation fault, the process of balancing itself remained running, unstoppable, not progressing. Later I had the kernel log full of errors (attaching this). The partition was unrecoverable.

After checking the problem again (I am the reporter): Upstream is the reason. Not distribution dependent.
