So does it mean that the installation has been finished and the system is booting the installed system ? If yes, can you boot the machine and in which mode
(graphical/text) ?
Sorry, we do not have a screenreader here. I am just trying to find out, if it is
a booting problem in general or "just" a configuration problem of the screenreader.
(In reply to Lisa Ingram from comment #0) > F9 works to enable the bootloader, > and In the original screen the reader reads 'boot from disk' but doesn't > read anything else. That message is displayed after booting the installation medium IIRC, if you boot the installed system you should see the system selection menu without this item (unless you still from the DVD). Unfortunately I have no idea how screen readers work or how we could improve it to read the other items as well. Could you possibly point us to some details? And what about the other Linux distributions? Do they handle the boot menu better regarding screen readers? Ping? Could you test it also with some older openSUSE? We really need feedback for this issue as we do not have any screen reader for testing... We need to make sure that linuxrc (the part of the system printing the initial menu) first and YaST (the installer itself) then can cope with screen readers. Then, we will need to make sure that the final result (that will involve others components as well) is usable enough. Since several components are involved and we need more information and guidance (about how screen readers work, for example), an entry in FATE is more appropriate than this bug report. So I'm closing the bug as "feature". Please request the feature at FATE http://features.opensuse.org/ |
