.jar files should be opened with java -jar by default in all the Desktop environments instead of Ark (as a simple compressed file).

Even the simple option to "open with Java" cannot be used without typing java -jar, because Openjdk 7 and 8 dont create .desktop files in /usr/share/applications, as Openjdk 6 do (openjdk-6-java.desktop).

The same bug has found in Ubuntu, more information at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/desktop-file-utils/+bug/1474379

Same bug, marking as duplicate. This does not mean that this does not affect the stable distributions or that it won't be fixed there.
