Hi.
I'm installing openSuse Tumbleweed from x86-64 NET CD and it fails when partitioning the SSD. I have used a next - next - next installation with everything by default.

Checking /var/log/YAST/y2log I read that installation script freezes on command
/usr/bin/parted -s --wipesignatures --align=optimal '/dev/sda' unit cyl mkpart primary ext2 0 7833

Using a terminal, I have manually executed the command and it freezes too.

Finally, I have found that the command executes if the option --wipesignatures is removed. The SSD can them be manually partioned.

I read that there is another bugrep with a similar error if parted is executed from an already installed system. bug 980834

I hope it helps.

FYI, if SSD is manually partitioned this way, Tumbleweed can be installed since partitions are already created and they have to be formated only.

Best Regards
