As per AppData specification, a new location was introduced for 'appdata' files (as the spec hoes beyond 'application' data by now, see metainfo.xml files)

The new location is /usr/share/metainfo

as-builder already picks up those files (IIRC, openSUSE does not have any yet!) but libzypp would not...

It would be good to get ahead of this before apps actually start installing the files there.

Fixed in libsolv-0.6.23; for libzypp-16.2.1
