Description Harald Mueller-Ney 2016-08-26 10:45:19 UTC
As soon as select a user via click I get:

(gnome-shell:8376): Gjs-WARNING **: JS ERROR: Exception in callback for signal: activate: TypeError: this._user.is_x_logged_in_remotely is not a function
LoginDialog<._onUserListActivated@resource:///org/gnome/shell/gdm/loginDialog.js:1208
wrapper@resource:///org/gnome/gjs/modules/lang.js:178
LoginDialog<._init/<@resource:///org/gnome/shell/gdm/loginDialog.js:501
_emit@resource:///org/gnome/gjs/modules/signals.js:124
UserList<._onItemActivated@resource:///org/gnome/shell/gdm/loginDialog.js:167
wrapper@resource:///org/gnome/gjs/modules/lang.js:178
_emit@resource:///org/gnome/gjs/modules/signals.js:124
UserListItem<._onClicked@resource:///org/gnome/shell/gdm/loginDialog.js:104
wrapper@resource:///org/gnome/gjs/modules/lang.js:178

Clicking on "not listed" and pressing return I get:

(gnome-shell:8376): Gjs-WARNING **: JS ERROR: Exception in callback for signal: next: TypeError: this._user.is_x_logged_in_remotely is not a function
@resource:///org/gnome/shell/gdm/loginDialog.js:904
_emit@resource:///org/gnome/gjs/modules/signals.js:124
AuthPrompt<._initButtons/<@resource:///org/gnome/shell/gdm/authPrompt.js:197

I see a endless "turning wheel" left of "next" button.

Issue is critical you cannot log into Gnome and you do not get any hint a typcial user.

System is setup for NIS, issue can be reproduced using local or NIS user.

Another duplicate of bug 994876

Some SLE patches required patches in more than one package and it was only half-enabled
