libreoffice-base-drivers-mysql package compatibility with LibreOffice Base
Last modified: 2019-05-14 14:57:33 UTC
The libreoffice-base-drivers-mysql package is apparently not built to be compatible with the current stable LibreOffice (6.1) so that the user has to revert an older LO release (6.0).
I strongly support the request for a libreoffice-base-drivers-mysql package that would support the latest LO versions.
Me too. I strongly support the request for a libreoffice-base-drivers-mysql package that would support the latest LO versions.
Rather old information for all LO lovers. Since LO 6.2 no mysql driver is required any more. Therefore, possible mysql driver is to be deleted using LO Tools/Extension Manager. LO 6.2 an up uses internal driver.

When you say 'since LO 6.2 no mysql driver is required any more', I hope you mean that this is also true with a remote mysql/mariadb configuration (i.e. via network). By the way, it seems that even with the upcoming Leap 15.1 release from OpenSuse (next week) LO 6.1 is still the baseline.

Well, if "via network" means that you have a mysql database on the remote server and want to retrieve data with LO locally, than true, no mysql driver is required. I use such a configuration in the office on a daily basis; remote server with mysql database, several local clients with LO6.2 accessing data on the server. Even from home it works fine.
I updated LibreOffice to version 6.2.2.2 from a factory repository for OpenSuse Leap 43.2 and the MySQL connection works without additional package. @Harvey Nimmo maybe you can try LibreOffcie 6.2.x it on a test system.
