MozillaThunderbird 68 update breaks enigmail
Last modified: 2019-10-04 06:50:29 UTC
MozillaThunderbird bump from 60.8.0 to 68.1.1 contains an incompatibility with enigmail also shipped in SLE 15 and openSUSE Leap 15 as a system packaged add-on. With the new TB version the enigmail add-on is marked as legacy and is not functional. The feature parity of the OpenPGP encryption feature of the Thunderbird and Enigmail combination was explicitly spelled out as a functional requirement when this was added to SLE 15 Desktop/WE. Little bit of a regression here. Solution is to pull up enigmail to 2.1.x or later. Regression is in SUSE Security UpdatevSUSE-SU-2019:2515-1 https://www.suse.com/support/update/announcement/2019/suse-su-20192515-1/ SUSE:SLE-15:Update/MozillaThunderbird.12674 For openSUSE, this regresses in these incidents: https://build.opensuse.org/project/show/openSUSE:Maintenance:11182 https://build.opensuse.org/project/show/openSUSE:Maintenance:11186
