Bugzilla – Bug 166963
Can't install Xen virtual machine
Last modified: 2006-04-17 14:56:59 UTC
In RC1 I'm trying to create new Xen virtual machine via YaST2->System->Virtual Machine Management (Xen). Chosen the "Run installer" method with paravirtualization, set my local ftp server as installation source, created two NICs, both connected to "Default Bridge" and selected DHCP configuration. So far so good, Installer did some preinstallation and created domU. Small xterm with xm console popped up and here comes the problem: I can't start up FTP installation because it complains about missing network module. So I tried to load it from the Modules menu but haven't found anything suitable (was looking for xennet or something similar). Now I'm stuck - I can't load the module from YaST installer, I don't know how to safely escape to the shell, load the module and return back to YaST, simply I can't continue. I'll try to prepare the domU filesystem via "YaST2->Sotfware->Installation into directory", but I would have prefered to use the provided Xen manager for this task.
