Description Tim Fechtner 2006-04-28 10:26:48 UTC
Search in KHelpCenter for "lppasswd" (or anything other): This word in only one time found in the SUSE documentation: in the Reference Manual. But the result is not only shown in the list of Reference Manual, but also in all other SUSE manuals.

Will, can you check it, please?
Comment 3 Tim Fechtner 2006-12-09 16:33:14 UTC
Still the same in 10.2 final.
Comment 4 Will Stephenson 2007-01-30 08:18:04 UTC
Lukas, anything we can do about this since the search results come from Beagle now?
Comment 5 Lukas Tinkl 2007-02-19 13:48:28 UTC
No idea why Beagle lists them... perhaps reassign to beagle itself?
Comment 6 Will Stephenson 2007-12-14 13:41:19 UTC
Will review this in my january khelpcenter sweep.
Comment 7 Tim Fechtner 2008-03-04 08:34:40 UTC
Since about 2 years there's no working search in the openSUSE documentation for KDE users. Setting Priority to medium.
Comment 8 Karl Eichwalder 2008-03-04 09:11:49 UTC
bug 297572 is already marked as a prio 1 bug...
Comment 9 Alexander Naumov 2010-12-12 17:11:00 UTC
Same here:

> cat /etc/SuSE-release
openSUSE 11.3 (x86_64)
VERSION = 11.3

> rpm -qf '/opt/kde3/bin/khelpcenter'
kdebase3-3.5.10.1-71.6.x86_64

Package is from this repo:
download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/KDE3/openSUSE_11.3/
Comment 10 Christian Trippe 2010-12-12 19:51:08 UTC
Is this also a problem with KDE 4, because KDE3 bugs are WONTFIX for openSUSE?
Comment 12 Alexander Naumov 2010-12-12 21:22:51 UTC
In KDE4 it works only for default page/manual.

For example, if I run KDE Help Center and I search for "accept", I can't find something, but manual for "accept" exist in:
"UNIX Manual Index" --> "Index for Section 2: System Calls" --> "accept"

If KDE3 bugs are WONTFIX for openSUSE, than we can just close this report
...and open new report, but for KDE4 :)

If we will just change this report for KDE4, users will not know about the same bug in KDE3... and maybe will open new report about that.
Comment 13 Christian Trippe 2010-12-13 19:44:21 UTC
Ok, closing as WONTFIX.
Comment 14 Alexander Naumov 2010-12-14 11:14:16 UTC
There are KDE3 maintainers from the community, who can fix or just help with these bugs. I think we don't need to close all of KDE3 bugs just like WONTFIX.
Comment 15 Christian Trippe 2010-12-15 18:07:01 UTC
Then please tell me, who is this KDE3 maintainer who wants to get the assignee of KDE3 bugs. I have asked this several times already to people who claimed the same, but I am still waiting for an answer.

Please also look at the Warning on http://en.opensuse.org/KDE3 which is the official position of the KDE Team of openSUSE.
Comment 16 Alexander Naumov 2010-12-16 00:22:09 UTC
I don't think that some maintainer, who WANT it, exist. And this is not important which project we mean =)
Fact is, that maintainer who write paches exist.

In this case KDE:KDE3:

And thanks for link.
