Bugzilla – Bug 182512
sky2 failure on resume
Last modified: 2006-12-08 15:04:56 UTC
Upon resume from suspend to disk (hibernate) the sky2 ethernet driver fails. This is a known trouble module in the kernel with many patches being enetered recently I believe. This driver resumes properly on Ubuntu so perhaps a trip to their Malone Bug facility will provide clues as to a solution. Here is the message(s) upon resume: sky2 eth0: enabling interface sky2 eth0: phy write timeout sky2 eth0: phy write timeout sky2 eth0: phy write timeout ... And here is the message after "rmmod sky2" and "modprobe sky2" after resume: PCI: Enabling device 0000:02:00.0 (0000 -> 0003) ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:02:00.0[A] -> GSI 16 (level, low) -> IRQ 177 PCI: Setting latency timer of device 0000:02:00.0 to 64 sky2 0000:02:00.0: unsupported chip type 0xff sky2: probe of 0000:02:00.0 failed with error -95 Well, the error on the last line above may actually be 96 instead of 95. My copy-paste lost a portion. Its one of those two numbers though.
In bug 182541 you wrote that updating to sky.c version 1.4 maybe solve this problem too, can you confirm this ?
Sould be fixed in 10.2
